Hello. How are you, my friends? I wanted to ask you something. This is my first time attempting suicide — I have never tried before. I have read about many different methods, but none of them seem suitable for me. I would like to ask and discuss the idea of drowning.
There is a sea in my city. I was thinking that if I swim very far out, continuing without stopping until I reach a point where I no longer have the strength to return… However, there is one drawback: I can float on my back. If I reach that point, my instinct for self-preservation might make me turn onto my back and slowly make my way back to shore, regaining some energy.
I am also afraid of deep water, which might cause me to turn back and abandon the plan.
Could you please tell me if anyone has tried something similar? Have there been similar cases of suicide? What do you think about this?

There is no easy or fool proof way to die. All the good options have been taken from us. All the options remaining provide only hellish experiences that make it easier to just live

you see survival instinct is a real thing and considering you do know how to swim i am guessing you will start attempting to go back to land tho will you make it or not isnt something i am sure of but people often surprise themselves in a life and death situations maybe you will get a stamina boost considering its your life in danger
its weird how our bodies are built

Yeah, I agree with you. You explained it really well. It's just sad that there's no way to go peacefully without suffering.

It can work, but it is a risky method. Because your bodies own reflectes might kick in.

Also, do note that drowning is a very unpleasant way to die. Feeling like you can't breath to that extent will make you go into immediet panic mode.

Yeah, I agree — it's really tough. I'm also worried that my survival instinct might kick in and make me turn back halfway. I'm not sure how to improve the plan so it actually works.

I can't recall not knowing how to swim, and before you swim - you learn to float.

Non-swimmers would have an "advantage" with this method because they haven't had muscle memory drilled into them.

The other problem is that there are very few bodies of water without boats at all hours. Just check out Marine Traffic website.

A lone swimmer would attract attention (swim school teaches the "buddy system" and open water swimmers such as triathletes and Navy SEALs typically swim with at least one other person), and you might get saved.

To quietly drown is almost impossible, because the world isn't as empty as it seems.

Yeah, I've been thinking about it. I still haven't found a foolproof way. I considered doing it at night, but I'm really scared of the sea and the darkness. Besides, even at night, if I drive up to the shore, someone might notice me
