Correlation between drug use and depression/ctb

Hey, new member here. I'm a drug addict and have been using hard drugs since I was 14, on top of other mental illnesses and being suicidal on and off for years, and I'd like to know how many others here have had similar experiences.

Have you struggled with substance abuse issues or do you use drugs regularly? What do you use? Do you think drug addiction has contributed to you being suicidal or has it kept you on this earthly plane at times?

Just psychedelics and weed, at most a few times a week. I'm not really an addict, and my drug use doesn't really correlate with my suicidal ideation.

Thank you for your input. I know there is a connection between mental illness or depression and substance abuse but maybe not ctb

Pretty sure drug addicts will have a higher suicide rate, but you don't need to be addicted to drugs to be suicidal. Many people I have talked here with have no reliance on any substance.
