I just burnt the coals in a burner for 90 minutes, they have all turned white and aren't glowing when I've put them into the bbq, will it still work? I've put them straight in the tent and sealed it
White ash on coals is a sign of reduction in the flame, not a lack of heat or gas. They should still produce CO but if you want to re burn them or add more coals if you can to really make sure theres a CO production that's fine. But like I said they should still be actively producing it even in that state

Had your coals burning way too long in the chimney starter. Depending on the brand, only needs around half hour before tipping out in to grill or bucket
