Am I the only one slow enough to just now notice the irony --or possible utility!-- of mistletoe (very toxic) being a Christmas symbol?

This seasonal celebration was, originally, all about death and rebirth, after all.

(This is intended as humor. I strongly recommend against attempting to ctb with yuletide decorations.)

As horrible as it is to hang Christmas tree lights, I'm surprised that hasn't been suggested, either.
