After a lot of thought, I've decided on hanging/partial hanging. I'm nervous and scared about attempting, I don't want the attempt to fail. So, I thought I could start practicing by doing the choking game for a few weeks. That way I can get used to having something around my neck, and get used to the feeling of blacking out. I think it might make it less scary if I think of it just as a game. And I can push myself a little farther each time I do the choking game, until I feel ready to ctb. What do u all think?

If you don't cause yourself enough brain damage by the end of the "game" that you can't properly hang yourself...

Be careful, accidental deaths have happened that way.

If you're just practicing, never tie the rope to the anchor point. Instead, pass the rope through the anchor point and hold the free end in your hand. In this way, when you lose consciousness, your hand will open and you will fall to the ground, freeing yourself.

My recommendation is that when you start to feel your vision blurring/darkening and your body becoming light (like "floating" in the air is a feeling of weakness and calm, it feels quite good)... you stop the practice. It's best not to go so far.

(If you are already unconscious on the ground) A possible risk is that the ligature knot around your neck becomes so tight (or get stuck) that you still cannot stop the pressure on your neck and restore blood flow to your brain.
So, for practice, it's probably best not to use a self-tightening knot. If it gets stuck, you'll be in trouble.

There are no 100% safe practices. So keep that in mind; this isn't meant to scare you, but to warn you. There are many real-life cases, especially those who practice autoerotic asphyxiation.

This is not a "game", be careful.

I did this a bit safer by laying down and pressing on my arteries with my fingers. That way even if I passed out, I would just let go of my neck. Be careful doing this too many times though. Repeatedly pinching off your arteries can still lead to brain damage or stroke.

Thank you for your advice. I will use my hand instead of rope at least at first, to be careful.

Thank u. Thats good info. Im going to start off using just my hand, then as I get more comfortable, start using a scarf or rope (no self tightening knot). I want to get so used to it, it seems normal, so when I'm ready to ctb, I won't wimp out.

At this point, I'm ready to take the risk.
