I realised, there is no way I can live with capitalism.

i can't go to school every day, and work every day, all so that i can work some more. I thought today about having to go to work tomorrow and I burst out into tears and couldn't stop.

Suicide was never certain, I usually thought it was how i'd go, but some days I still had hope. Then I realised today, theres no other way out.

If i dont kill myself then what, i'll just be working for decades and only once i've generated enough value I can retire?

I can't imagine anything other than suicide. I'm so burnt out from capitalism and im not even old enough to drink yet

I feel the exact same way... like why have I completely given up when the worst has yet to come? Whenever I think about possibly having a peaceful future it's interrupted by the thought of "actually, no, you're just going to work to death."

hmm I get this. I am a social work student and every day in class proves why I should ctb more... I can get my degree sure but the world still exists... profs be like "the world is hopeless right now but it's been this way for not a long time we can change it" but they mean that the industrial Revolution happened and human existence has been longer than that. so how can I believe we can defeat capitalism when you tell us we just have to educate our co-workers and violence is not an option...

Yeah, this world is quite literally designed to work you to the bone and grind you to pulp, all in the name of making a few bucks for some rich, sociopathic assholes. The world could be so, so beautiful, and we've made it the hell it is.

I think it's this way no matter what economic system is in place. I can't think of one where nobody worked and just had leisure time. You either work for yourself, a boss, or the state.

Or be born rich. But yes, you had to work to live and that made sense for most of human history. However, I'd argue it's not the case anymore. Advances in technology (mostly agriculture, things like the Haber-Bosch process removing the nitrate bottleneck and the development of GMOs) mean that it no longer takes most people growing food or fighting over resources to keep a population alive. And that's not even mentioning the AI stuff that's starting to happen.

We've yet ti create robots to do all tasks. Until then someone has to do the grunt work and those who do will be envious of those who don't. It's better than early humanity days but humans are still a requirement in the processes of life. I just hear people talk of vague utopian worlds where everyone gets to do what they want all have all they want as if that's right around the corner. Usually it's tied to some person being elected . I'd love that world if we had it.
