Recently, I watched some interviews with a leftwing intellectual. He agreed with some talking points on the German right-wing populist party which I only read in very right-wing media which surprised me. He seemed to be fully honest and uncensored which made me think.

He says most reportings on the Ukraine war in major newspapers are totally useless. It is propaganda. You see that when you check which sources they use. They will never write the truth. And this is something that @DarkRange55 also said.

He says there are some few independent journalists that can be trusted. I think he wanted to allude to substack.

Side note he did not say that but many people notice that. German media is pretty much in favor of Israel how they report about the conflict. It is probably as one-sided as the TikTok videos just in favor of Palestine.

There are also some intellectuals who are very much pro-Israel. I think some scientical articles financed by the state were a little bit desperate to defend Israeli war crimes. One of their main arguments was the Israeli society is traumatized (and does not know what it is doing).

I read daily a very right-wing Swiss newspaper who is extremely one-sided pro-Israel. There are so insanely bogus claims. They just published an article by a Israeli member of the Knesset. It was just a speech by him and it only consisted of blaming the Palestinian people 100% for the conflict. The Palstenians just pretend to be victims and actually deserve it. He said there are 2 millions terrorists in Palestine. I couldn't believe it.

"People never lie so much as after a hunt, during a war, or before an election." Otto von Bismarck was quite right.

It's weird that the right wing is now pro-Jewish where as in the 30s it was anti-Jewish.

For me, if I never heard about the plot of land called Palestine/Israel for as long as I live I would be happy.

Many right-wingers just pretend to be pro-Jewish at least where I live. The conservatives support Israel. But the right-wing populist parties jewish organizations warn about them. Wolves in sheep clothes. Does this idiom exist in English?

Yes, Wolf in Sheeps clothing is a very famous phrase and probably exists in many different languages.

I don't trust a damn thing the media says.... not only on this topic, but all of them. There was a time the news was honorable and told, well, the news. Those days are gone forever.
