No Internet space is completely safe, and it also depends on your definition. Plenty of scammers and predators linger here, as well as your garden variety egomaniac and everyday asshole. Go ahead and report if you feel harassed or uncomfortable. Also, hit ignore on the user. Just avoid giving out personal information, keep your guard up, and you should be fine.
