  • Hey Guest,

    Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

    This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

    In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Psychiatrist just put me on Buspar (aka Buspirone) because I'm not a big fan of taking Benzodiazepines. I was wondering if anyone here has had any luck with it? or any bad experiences?

I was told that it could be 2-4 weeks before I might notice any improvement. I'm four days in, and so far I feel slightly "different", but it's hard to put into words. Almost as if things are a bit more "dreamy" and not as real? If that makes sense.

I can't really determine if that's a good or bad thing at this point.

It never helped me at all, I honestly think most pharmaceuticals only benefit the company selling them. I hope it does something positive for you though!

Buspar is my anxiety medicine of choice. I've tried many kinds. The thing I like best is no side effects, no foggy head. It has a short half life though, so I have to take it a couple times a day.

I've been on Bupropion. I had to get off it because the stimulant effects made me really aggressive and angry towards people.

I understand the skepticism, but I've seen medication help a lot of people. The problem is everyones different, and not every drug & dosage works for everyone. It's a difficult process finding out works for you.

It's like any med. Different things affect people in different ways. I can't take some antibiotics for example.

That's good to hear!

I'm taking it twice a day. 5mg twice daily, and after six days I am instructed to start taking 10mg twice daily.

I've been on 45mg of buspar for maybe 4 months now. I take other stuff too so sometimes it's hard to tell what drug is doing what, but buspar is the first anxiolytic ive been on and it "feels" different if that makes sense.

As far as generalized anxiety, it's harder for painful thoughts to stick in my brain long enough to really hurt me. The thought process feels less hurried and panicked when I think about my problems. They're still there and still huge, I'm just no longer guaranteed to be thrust into an emotional crisis when I think about them.

Social anxiety is the bigger problem for me and it's not like a drug can teach social skills, but the thought of interacting with people is less frightening now. It feels like less of my mental bandwidth is taken up by anxiety so now there's actually some room in there for like coming up with stuff to say and maintaining eye contact.

The dreamy feeling you mention might be a body-adjusting-to-new-substance thing. Most of my more pleasant or cool side effects are like that where they show up, stick around for a few weeks, and then fade away. I had some really cool dreams the first month on celexa ;;
