Hello

I'm pretty sure I sustained some brain damage after an overdose. Though the doctors seem to think I'm fine.

If I did get brain damage, will it ever get better? Or only get worse? Is there anything I can do to help my recovery along, since doctor's seem to be in denial.

I hope you didn't suffer any damage but you'll know for sure and drs like to downplay things. I hope you can recover, I suffered some as well and it's been a bumpy ride towards recovery.
Peace/hugs

I feel the same after one. I was told the neurological examination was fine. I feel slow and weird. I had vision problems for a while but back to normal now. Everyone says I am acting and sounding the same. I appear to have the same cognition as before to them. Answering details things well etc. Just have to wait and see I guess. Everyone I have seen says anything I feel is just detoxing/healing and all exams are normal and don't point to hypoxic brain damage. I understand you though as it is terrifying.

I have neural damage and the symptoms are different for everyone from what I've read and people I've spoke to. I think you'll know if you have it there's a big difference in depression and living with brain damage... With brain damage some menial tasks seem impossible to you and it's only when someone explains what you're doing you realize.

@Moby can you add some details why you feel like It?

@oopswronglife and @Moby
Maybe, just maybe it's could be Dissociation, you can check that

It usually caused by drugs, and it can give a person a feeling of loosing his mind

May I ask what the neurlogical exam entailed? Was there a CT scan? or just blood work

I was basically stopping breathing as I fell asleep. The next day my brain felt half asleep and the next night I had similar feelings.

Now I still have tingling like my brain is asleep and just a general fog/ concentration memory issues.

I'm okay if there's some damage, but I hope that it would get better and not worse...

Exactly what I feel in my Dissociation

You may want to check it with Psychiatrist, doctor can't help in this situation

What did you overdose on? Depending on what it is, it probably did something bad to your body. But there are steps you could take to heal yourself through a good diet, exercise, and sleep.
