  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

My shrink prescribed me with antidepressants (Pristiq) and I've been on it roughly about a year and a half. When I reflect my condition on those time frame, I notice that my hypo mania comes often; it's like rapid cycling. and yesterday I decided to read the fine print, and they wrote bipolar need to thread carefully with this, and the risk of suicidal will increase or appear. I've notice that suicide never cross my mind before I decided to seek psychiatric help. I told them about this and they brush it off with a half-assed explanation. The reason I seek help was for my anxiety; to a degree that I can't function outside.

Hot heads runs in my family, unfortunately I inherit that from my Dad and it's a learnt behavior at a young age seeing him doing it. Based on my disposition and what my mom told the shrink they diagnosed me with Bipolar Type 1 and later Bipolar Type 2. I was a happy bloke before seeking help, it's just anxiety that held me back but it does not impact my happiness one bit. It went spiraling down when help is seek.

If your shrink doesn't listen to you, you may want to switch to a different one.

As above, I'd get a second opinion. Its perfectly fine to switch doctors if you aren't happy with your current one, especially when its possible the medication is having an adverse effect on you. I have both conditions as well and take an SSRI and an antipsychotic medication, so far they haven't made things worse for me, just taken the edge off, stopped hallucinations and paranoia etc.

Most anti depressants are bad for bipolar. I had a really bad time with it. Alot of prescribers don't know this. Mood stabilizers and anti psychotics are more typical.
