Did you already test? If you bought it from a reputable source, it shouldn't be an issue. The most common thing that happens is people get mixed up and accidentally buy curing salt instead. SN is usually as advertised.

But the "safest" thing to do if you doubt the purity is replace it.

If it's not the purest stuff maybe you could just take a bigger dose to compensate? Does that sound smart? :ahhha:

It won't make the blood turn darker by adding more SN. It's the methemoglobinemia that kills. See the comment in the blood testing thread that has the photos of vials showing the different percentages of methemoglobinemia by color. I had some SN that caused less than 50% methemoglobinemia when I tested it, and adding more SN didn't change the color or the blood, so if I had taken it, I would have gotten very sick but probably not died.

This member reported buying the same low-purity SN I did, taking 100g in 50ml water, and just getting very sick.
