I was raised (mostly) in a Buddhist environment, and Buddhism was used to dismiss or justify by dehumanisation.

I remember one time, a school teacher said that I come from a good/wealthy family becuase I have done a lot of good things in my previous birth.

But I had probably done something awful, and that's the reason I was getting bullied.

Fuck these superstitious morons...

I've looked at Buddhism and come across these ideas before too. That both good and bad things in life are the result of good or bad actions in previous lives. I very much disliked this idea, because if you are having a bad life due to bad actions in a previous life, it seems that it would make it even more difficult to do good acts to 'redeem yourself' in the next life.

Buddhists, globally, with the exception of the Japanese, are superstious morons...

They're just not as violent as other religions. But they're just as stupid.

religion based on pretending there's a big secret you need to be worthy of
like many religions...secret magic knowledge but you need to grovel and suffer because of speshul reezuns

- in pain? it's because you're a desirous scumbag. just stop wanting!
- except wanting to end your suffering...is also a desire. don't worry, this mystery is thoroughly explicated in this and that canon and this or that riddle from guru fatboi on reddit
- suicide, which would align perfectly with ending desire itself...gets extra super duper punishment cuz "nuh-uh!! you need to have a big ah-ha moment first and there's lots and lots of LESSUNZ"
- gurus have better smelling farts than you

NOTE: this is not meant to offend anyone. but every serious question about it is always met with a "you just haven't gone deep enough, like special guru has" or "you haven't mastered this or that breath and technique yet"

What's worse is in the new wave of DudeBro protestant Buddhists, who don't even cite a specific canon, or a monk, and they just half ass it and present it as a philosophy. And when you tell them the entire premise of their philosophy is an ancient hindu superstition, they get hostile. I'm not saying an ancient superstition can't be the basis for a good way to live your life. But there was a time when most of the known world was Buddhist. And it wasn't some global utopia focused on non-violence and inner peace, it was just buddhists killing other buddhists....
