Any thoughts on methadone?

I have been going to a methadone clinic for an addiction to pain pills for almost 6 years now. I am now at a stage where I get 13 days of take-home doses (85mg each). Is this enough to put me over the edge if I took it all at once? Any thoughts or experiences would be welcomed. Thank you.

I've had patients die of methadone OD. The amount you take is really dependent on your tolerance level. It kills you by taking up the same receptors as narcotics do, it depresses your Central nervous system. You fall asleep and eventually forget to breathe. Very effective. I'd say, can you stop taking it for 13 days? Suffer through it, then take 26 days worth? You'd be detoxing enough to lower your tolerance, as long as you didn't take another narcotic. If that's not possible, take 13 days worth with a ton of alcohol as it also depresses the central nervous system.

Actually methadone is supposed to kill you through cardiac arrest. I read that you should take benzos with it to knock you out in order to have a peaceful death.

Methadone kills you by depressing your respiratory drive. You just stop breathing.

I'm not so sure about that. Though it is a proper method on it's own, if you take that amount of drugs you'll likely start throwing up. But with the bag over your head, you'll throw up in your own face.

Hmmm, with a tolerance and Oslo little Valium and Xanax, I'd be weary. I don't think this is the most reliable method for you. It will take twice as much or more to be successful with such a tolerance.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna get really fucked up on the methadone and then shoot myself with a 9mm. That caliber is big enough to do the job if I aim it correctly right?

When I was in court for sentencing,expecting 3-6yrs, I took half a litre of linctus with 8000mg Seroquel.
On intake at the prison,I was assessed as being "over sedated" and held in the medical wing.
No idea what kind of tolerance I had,but obviously,it didn't kill me.
Have heard of non tolerant people dying from relatively small doses though.

I'm thinking of stopping it for a week, if I can put up with the withdrawals, and taking 1300mg. I've always heard that people that go to detox for a week or two and then when they get out they use the same amount as before they went in, and they die of an OD. So I'm gonna try that. If that doesn't work, I'll use the gun that I'll buy before the OD attempt. That's if I can get thru the withdrawals. I've heard they're a bitch with methadone.

My mom used to take methadone for over 9 years and stopped taking it a good month ago, and even though she "only" went down 0,5ml every two weeks she had terrible pain, lost lots of weight, was very aggressive and well, ended up taking drugs again now. She told me that it felt horrible and after she took no one anymore she was barely reasonable and she looks terrible now.
So don't beat you up if you can't stop taking it, it's probably a better option to look for another method.

Well I'm gonna try and stop for as long as I can. I've read that your tolerance can be cut in half if you stop for even 3 days. I'll probably end up buying a gun and shooting myself in the head, the brain stem to be more precise. I don't think I could stop for even 3 days. I've been on the stuff since April of 2013 and the longest I've gone is 48 hours in between doses, so I don't know if I can do much more than that, but I'm gonna try.

I managed to get some fent patches prescribed. But could still feel the w/d's even through that.

That was a while back and I traded in that script for Morphine pills. Kept finding the patches on the floor and was worried about the dog munching on them.
