Doesn't need to explicitly be a saying, can be something you made up. Just some little thing you believe in
I believe that magpies bring news. And if they don't get close to you themselves, it's not your mail and someone else's. Not just good/bad or big only, just...news. Finding out your headphones didn't charge is news too if you squeeze your eyes enough. There's a saying "a magpie brought on the tail" which I really like. There's definitely more... the most common I can think of is the One for Sorrow nursery rhyme... Magpies are my favourite birds. So I also think they're a good sign of... something. Me buying the last can of my favourite soda is good, spending time with my classmates is good... You get my point I think.
I like to call them words associated with news. Like articles, like in a news article...very funny, very funny. Headlines too sometimes. Or just postmen/other news related job. I especially like how my mother reacts when I say something like "there're 3 journalists outside" lol, it takes her a minute to get.
When I see one I immediately check my gpa to see if something changed, or my phone, or try to remember any recent tests. More often I just admire and observe them. I've seen ~7 for the past week, that's cool. Today there was a pair of them in the morning. I hope I'd get an opportunity to get close enough to get a clear picture on one of my cameras one day.
