Any book talking about SI ?

Hi, does anyone know if there is a book or some scientific paper who speaks about SI ? I mean a real study. I've seen a lot of tv shows with real people surviving in the woods or in montain, but I'd like to know how SI exactly works in the brain. Thanks

Imo one has to first read books on the brain, others on how to reprogram the brain. Others on how to change beliefs and habits and quit addictions.
