My first thread here, so here we go...

Do you ever feel like someone is watching you all the time and judging every move and thought?
Is it forcing you to do "the right things"?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
I have sometimes this feeling too. But we live in a society in which everyone is monitored.
I consider myself lightly paranoid. This modern society sucks.

Thank you for the reply. 🤗
I've had this feeling most of my life, and I'm 42 now. Nobody was monitoring us in the 90s...
Its more like something inside me. Call it morality , God or whatever. Feeling that you must do the right thing to not let people down, or be seen as someone different or vulnerable.

I guess this kind exists as well.. but I feel it as a cintants background noise alone when I see an email from a service I didn't sign up for. All my data is out there, everything, and Im worth so little in comparison to all my data. It doesn't make me afraid or make me monitor myself, rather it makes me monitor everything else, services, people, "free" things. I dint have the all seeing eye if morality above me, I trust myself and I don't believe in a god or any other supernatural entity. But, I do believe in the cruelty of humanity, and the greed in this world

Not really. Whatever eyes that followed me around probably went away a long time ago, replaced with dear friend Trauma. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

There is so much surveillance now and we have just allowed it to happen, often by being told it is to reduce crime or for our own good.

Most people are so blasé about their privacy, happy to allow companies to sell the open microphones that listen to everything just in case you say "hey alexa" or doorbell cameras that record the faces of everyone who comes and goes. All these systems put your privacy in the "cloud" and are used to train AI or just plain stored for later use.

I am a child of the 70's and 80's where you could get away with having fun as long as you weren't caught by a grown up.

I feel sorry for the younger generations that are growing up thinking the this level of scrutiny is the norm.
