I just saw pictures of a well known U.S. polician. It made me wonder if you stay blue for a while after recovering from an SN ctb attempt. Does anyone know if you stay blue even after you leave the hospital? I would think it could be extreme bruising but then his lips are blue. I don't think he tried using SN but this is just unusual looking and no explanation was given. I wondered if any medical professionals here could have a possible reason for this?

He might be on blood thinners and had some injections into his hands which bled but why the blue lips.

Do they inject SN to counteract something?

The short answer is no. Cyanosis is reported to resolve within <60mins of treatment using methylene blue. Note that this is cyanosis in the case of Methemoglobinemia.

She still must be unconscious in that picture due to the way her mouth looks. Thanks for the picture that clears up my question about Mitch McConnell at least.

Looks like bruising to me..
Idk how you'd get bruised lips (the mind boggles) but it's not impossible.
Or a circulation issue.

He's a politician.
He got bruised lips because of talking so much.
The back of his hands are blue due to being bruised because of so many 'back handers'.

I was thinking of a more inappropriate and sexual reason.

McConnell got beaten up and tried to defend himself.
