I know they are less powerful than .357 Magnum rounds, but how much less so, if .357 Magnum rounds could just reliably kill me with very little room for error? I know the approximate numbers and measurements, but that doesn't really put it into perspective when trying to gauge the effectiveness of an intraoral gunshot. I know next to nothing about guns. I have a .357 revolver but I don't know if there are .357 Magnum rounds around here that I could use. I know that the Colt Python I have is rated to fire .38 Special rounds, so at least those would be compatible. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who knows more about this stuff than I do. Thank you.

Google them.
The 38 special was a common hold-up weapon back in the day. It was deadly enough to be threatening. It might not have the power to go through a car window. (they are pretty tough)

Your best bet would be to go somewhere you won't be found and 'saved'.
A .38 special is roughly a 9mm with a bigger powder charge (that's an over-simplification but close enough.) They were also common police sidearms.
9 mils are very common and frequently deadly so a .38 should be as well, especially as they seem to come in hollow-point form more often than not, from my experience. The mistake people make when shooting themselves intra-oral is aiming straight up. This frequently only causes non-lethal injury and leaves one brain damaged. Instead aim back, towards the brain stem.
However, if you go somewhere private then even a wound that is not instantly fatal will not be able to be treated. You'd bleed to death, but likely be unconscious.
Not encouraging you to CTB or not, but I'd like to see you avoid being maimed for life!

A reminder that we have a thread for this.

Anyway, to stop being an asshole and actually answer your questions...

A .357 Magnum revolver can typically fire .38 Special as well.
.38 Special was previously what most police officers used in the U.S. It'll work fine, tongzhi.

On an unrelated note...
