I was having a big brain moment, researching medieval capital punishment. I was just wondering, for all the history buffs and modelers out there, how realistic is it? If I could get like a 40-50 kg steel angled blade, and around 4-5 metre frame, would it work? I also did a little research and it seems that 100 units/mL of insulin can be fatal in one dose. Usually, otc insulin comes in 300 units/mL vials, so would this also be a sure fire option? Thanks for reading.

Dude guillotine is fucking wild (mean this in a positive way). You'd probably need access to power tools of some kind. You'd have to attach something to the blade in order to tie it to a rope.

So I just turned 19, and I'm still living with my family. I have ready access to power tools and I don't think the frame would be very expensive, but the main thing is the blade.
There are guillotines for cutting like thick stacks of paper, but they're straight edged (less effective than an angled blade) and no where near heavy enough.

There are places online that will custom make metal parts for you if you send them designs, not sure they would be willing to manufacture a blade though, and they tend to be expensive. Where would you even keep a guillotine where nobody would see?

I am planning on moving out, but I don't have the money for it yet. Ideally I'd get a place with a secluded backyard and just build it there. However the blade would be quite expensive and I don't even know if someone would custom manufacture a heavy, sharp blade without asking what it was for. Especially if it's angled.

A Guillotine is definitely one of the more stylish ways of going out, but building one is a real endeavor. I think I ran the math on building one once and it's like 2k for all the materials.

I had thought of a guillotine once. I came across a post of someone that built a guillotine in their house and ctb with it. There were pictures of it and everything. It was the only recorded instance of someone ctb that way that I know of. Unfortunately I can't find the article anymore. :(

Good to know. I didn't know it would be that expensive, but it seems pretty realistic aside from the budget. I guess I'd have to get the physics right too.

I can't build one and I can't get insulin without a prescription. I need to find something asap. I'm suffering tremendous pain with no relief for even a second. Good luck to you!

Where can you get OTC insulin? This is not possible in UK :(

This sounds a bit risky. You don't want to survive a severe injury to the back of your neck.

Please think things thoroughly.

True True. I'll have to either make sure it works or just find something else.
Thank you everyone for replying and pitching in with your opinions. I really needed this.
