(for partial suspension) bought 1-4" twisted rope , can't find a resource on recommended rope types, is there anyway i can ensure it's strong enough

probably not. you want to look into thicker stuff, and braided is better usually because less hassle. twisted you have to keep together, braided is not going to come apart. it all depends on your situation and your wishes too. "dock line" i hear good things about though have no experience with myself, though would like to be able to get some also. Mule line, or otherwise known as "mule tape" is pretty good stuff, thick nylon rope with more of a comfortable texture to it, and a high breaking strength, but DO do your homework.
